Thrush is an infection of the mouth caused by Candida fungus, also known as yeast. Candida infection is not limited to the mouth, and can occur in other parts of the body as well, causing diaper rash in infants or vaginal infections in women.

Thrush can affect anyone, even if it occurs more often in infants and young children, the elderly and people whose immune system is weakened.
